Following a Catholic school education (……..),  and having taught for eleven years in both Public State Schools and Public Schools on Private Property, Zamaswazi (Swazi) joined the KZN Catholic Schools Office in 2007.

Having originally been based at the Mariannhill office, Swazi was asked to serve the schools in Zuluand and Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal. This she has done to great effect since ….., her responsibilities taking her to many a far-flung school.

Being somewhat removed from the ‘Head Office’, Swazi has had to develop a sense of independence and self-motivation, together with a mindset of self-reliance. This she has successfully managed to acquire and has developed strong relationships with ‘her schools’. Fortunately, she has also been willing to share her wisdom with her Field-worker colleagues.

Whilst having to be an all-rounder, Swazi has developed an in-depth understanding of legislation relevant to education and Catholic schools in particular. She has also developed a network of relationships within the KZN education arena that has stood the Catholic Schools Board in good stead.

Whilst Swazi’s knowledge and skills are well known within the local Catholic education sphere, what is less well-known are her sporting credentials. Table Tennis is her particular forte and she has umpired this sport at both a provincial and national level. And given that her nickname is Maradona, perhaps she is an accomplished soccer player as well!
