Musawenkosi Dominick Ngcobo was born at Bothas’s Hill KwaZulu-Natal, the last born of five siblings.

Musa grew up in a strong Catholic household and in a neighbourhood that was predominantly Catholic. Strengthening his Catholic faith was the fact that he was educated in Catholic schools – Bethlehem Catholic School, Inchanga Combined School and, finally, St. Francis College at MariannhilL.

Following the example of his uncle who was a teacher, Musa studied for his Primary Teachers qualification at the Mpumalanga College of Education and, on completion, started teaching in 1977 at Sokwalisa Primary School.

Wishing to pursue his education, Musa enrolled at the University of Natal (Durban) to do a Higher Diploma in Education. Upon completion, he was promoted to the principalship of J.E Ndlovu High School.  Whilst here, and in addition to his normal duties, he was involved in successfully organizing music competitions for all the schools around Durban townships. Believing in the power of nature as an educator, he also encouraged the learners to establish and maintain gardens. Again he was successful, with his school winning the competition for the best gardens in the Durban area.

During his days in the teaching world, Musa was a supporter of the Catholic Schools Office and participated in many of its courses. It was a perfect for both parties when he joined the office in 2010.

Since joining the CSO as a Field-worker, Musa has proved especially adept at developing relationships with the clergy, especially the school Chaplains. Here is able use his wealth of experience in both education and parish life to good effect.
